So I have a problem, I installed the gtx 1660 super 6gb, then I did a test test for the pc, and it gives me results on the power of the processor and video card etc.Īt the first test it tells me that the video card works at 81% of power and therefore well, I then updated the nvidia drivers and redone the test test and the result and that the video card works at 57% !!!!!! Thanks for your advice and I apologize to everyone for my constant insistent questions on the same topic. Hahahahha you're right I always torment you with my doubts about GPUs, because I don't know which one is best to use. Which one performs better with the given plugins you use. The best answer for you is to set up a test project and try the two cards. The 1060 was the replacement for the 960 and over all has better performance, but the cuda core count may say different with certain software and plugins that rely on cuda Also generally a newer card is better than an old one, but not always if the newer one not able to perform the task as well. If you don’t have plugins that need the cuda cores, more RAM is probably better. Without knowing what will happen with Edius, all that can be said is that if you use a plugin that uses cuda processing, more cores may be better if there is enough ram to process the size of the video frame. Personally I think the best option is to use what works best for you right now and wait to see what happens as Edius x matures. Future versions are supposed to use the gpu more but you are asking us to tell you what will work better in the future but none of us are fortune tellers. You have been agonizing over your gpu cards for a while now, but as has been the case for many years, Edius still does not leverage the power of an nvidia gpu much, except for a few plugins and now some export acceleration.
